A Specialized Approach to Learning
The Canopy School is an independent, accredited school designed for students who thrive outside a traditional classroom setting. With small class sizes and a low student-to-staff ratio of 3:1, we provide individualized instruction tailored to meet each child’s unique needs and abilities.
Every student at The Canopy School receives a personalized learning plan aligned with the Mississippi Department of Education (MDE) College and Career Readiness (CCR) standards. Our dedicated faculty utilize diverse instructional techniques and accommodations to support student success, ensuring an inclusive and engaging learning experience.
Comprehensive Curriculum for Every Learner
Our curriculum aligns with MDE CCR standards and covers core subjects like language arts, math, social studies, and more, along with enrichment activities in physical education, art, music and technology. For lower elementary students, we utilize the Orton-Gillingham approach—a research-based, multisensory methodology proven to be highly effective for teaching reading, spelling, and writing, particularly for students with dyslexia and other language-based learning challenges.
Teachers combine traditional instruction, hands-on learning and small group or one-on-one support to engage each student and meet their unique learning styles.
